Your senior here is here. YAY! That is so exciting. It’s time for senior nights, college tours, senior prom and SENIOR PICTURES. You will be making a lot of decisions for your senior year. My goal is to make your senior pictures as easy as can be for you!
The first decision you have to make is WHEN do you want to take your senior pictures. You have lots of options. Let’s take a look at all of them.
This is the first and most obvious option. If you choose this option, you are a forward thinker who is on top of their game. We take your senior pictures before your senior year officially starts giving you the MOST time to post, print and share your images. This is the largest benefit of taking your senior pictures in the summer. Your images will be bright and warm with green grass, some wildflowers and lots of sunshine. The warm weather will open up more location options with creek water warming up and everything being in bloom. Summer is the hottest time of year to take your pictures, but we will work quickly on any day that is extra hot.
Pros: You have the most time to use your images & everything is in bloom
Cons: It may be really hot & humid for you.
This is the most popular time to get your senior pictures taken. You still will have ample time to post, print and share your images while avoiding a hot, sweaty day (hopefully). Leaves are also turning pretty colors that make a great backdrop for your images. The fall season is really an ideal time to take your senior pictures. However, this time of year fills up on a photographer’s schedule FAST and you have to play some more games with the weather. Some years leaves are pretty for 3 weeks and others for 3 days. It’s truly a gamble. It can work out to be a gamble worth taking sometimes though too. The choice is yours.
Pros: Cooler weather, pretty colors on the trees
Cons: Tricky timing for weather
This season is for my procrastinators. 😉 Now there is nothing wrong with procrastinating. We have all done it and I will do my best to make sure you still have plenty of time to print, post and share your images. Spring is personally my favorite season to photograph. The grass is turning green again and flowers are popping up everywhere. The colors that come with spring are absolutely gorgeous. Spring is also a great time to book your cap & gown session or prom mini session. It’s an exciting season that is worth photographing even if you’ve already completed one round of senior pictures!
Pros: Cool weather and colorful flowers are on the trees.
Cons: It’s later in your senior year giving you less time to share your images.
Everyone’s least favorite season. Poor winter doesn’t ever get any love. It’s not a bad time to take your senior pictures though! If you would like to have some snowy senior pictures we will work on a last minute scheduling basis and book your session as soon as snow accumulates on the ground. Snow creates one of the prettiest backgrounds for pictures allowing you to pop off the background. The images in the winter come out bright and crisp even on the coldest day. We will move quickly to ensure you aren’t rosy red in the cheeks too.
Pros: Snow images are gorgeous.
Cons: It’s cold outside.
There truly is no bad time to take your senior pictures. We will ensure that you are comfortable and captured well regardless of the season! You can inquire about booking your senior session here!
