Bryce & Hope Wilson became the Wilson’s on Monday, January 16 in Estes Park, Colorado. These two met in college at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. After graduation they both packed up and headed to Miami, Florida to pursue career in aquatics and marine biology. They both completed a few years of graduate school and some long distance. Bryce proposed with one arm (due to a broken wrist) in La Jolla, California while he was completing some work in Los Angeles. These two have seen so much of the world together, so I don’t think anybody was too surprised when they made the decision to get married in Estes Park, Colorado at Della Terra Mountain Chateau. When they asked me to come with them to capture their big day I was THRILLED. This day speaks for itself. Check it out!
Bryce had Hope’s engagement ring and wedding bands custom made. He also had a custom wedding band made. These rings are uniquely them and some of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen. Hope had a special pin on her bouquet. Her father passed away 6 months prior to her wedding. This was a small touch to remember him on her big wedding day.
The Della Terra Mountain Chateau had an on-site salon for Hope to get ready in. Her hair and makeup team came directly to them. Della Terra also had a theater for the gentlemen to hang out & get ready in. This meant that guys spent the morning playing Mario Kart on a large projector.
After completing their (emotional) first look. Bryce & Hope chose to read personal vows to each other. This was an incredible moment for them to slow down and truly enjoy each other before their wedding day was started.
Because the couple decided to complete a first look, we were able to capture all of their bridal party photos prior to the ceremony. This made the photos less stressful and gave us more time post-ceremony for just Bryce & Hope. This bridal party were rockstars during their photos while it was only 30 degrees and a touch windy in the Colorado mountains.
A moment for this rock star, adorable flower girl.
An outdoor wedding in January in Colorado could be a bold move. Bryce, Hope and Della Terra Mountain Chateau ensured that all guests were taken care of with hot chocolate, blankets, hand warmers and heaters placed throughout the ceremony. Bryce’s brother in law married this couple, and he did an amazing job adding personal touches throughout the ceremony.
The Della Terra Mountain Chateau property and the Colorado landscape provided so many photo opportunities without any travel. We were able to seamlessly go from ceremony to family photos to couple portraits. We started portraits with Hope wearing her veil, shawl and carrying her flowers. We then slipped off her veil and removed the shawl to show off her dress more. We rotated between photos with and without her flowers to ensure every detail of their wedding day was truly captured.
You would have never guessed that the Wilson wedding only had 50 guests with the high energy at their reception. The dance floor was busy all night and everyone was mingling about. Hope spared no mercy when it came to cutting their (cheese)cake and gave everyone a good laugh. We closed the night with some amazing photos outside of the venue with the lights they had strung throughout the space.
Being able to travel to Estes Park, Colorado to capture this wedding was a dream come true. Bryce & Hope were incredibly kind and accommodating to all of their guests all day. Their love for each other stood above everything else. Bryce ensured that Hope was always warm and comfortable and Hope made sure Bryce was always enjoying their wedding day. Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Wilson!
