I truly can not find the accurate words to explain this session. Lakyn’s senior photos were taken at the end of July. Prior to her session she sent me some images from Pinterest and my Instagram that stuck out to her. She wanted a semi-urban location, tall grass field and to get IN some water. We were able to achieve all three of her visions in bigger ways than I could have prepared myself for. We avoided brutal July temps and missed (most) of the mosquitoes. Lakyn’s energy is undeniably contagious. She giggles easily and makes conversation easy. She’s a Q-City Pommer and avid dancer. She loves hanging out with her friends and Jesus shines through her life. She is on my 2024 Senior Rep Team and has truly made the year better for all of us. I think these photos will help you see just a little bit more of incredible personality.

We started her senior pictures at the old iron bridge. This is a great location if you would like some urban vibes without staying in town. Lakyn’s sage green dress and red hair meshed and contrasted with the bridge perfectly keeping her as the subject.

After the bridge we headed to some private property for the perfect tall grass field. She opted to go barefoot. Her white dress and barefeet created the ideal, care free summer vibes. She really made my job too easy!

We closed out the night with the most beautiful sunset at a pond. This was THE vision Lakyn & I had spent the most time talking about. We selected a sand bottom pond so she could easily stand (or sit or lay) in the water without getting *too* dirty. This pond also faced the right direction if we were lucky enough to catch a sunset. And we absolutely were lucky enough to get a very colorful sunset. I love that Lakyn selected a colorful dress for this location. Neutral is common and I totally understand why. But color is bold and beautiful and shows even more of your own personality. It doesn’t clash or draw attention from you, but plays to your own beauty with an element of fun.

If you have made it this far, you understand why I am so obsessed with this session. I completed this session at the very tail end of my maternity leave. It was the perfect session to welcome me back to working and capturing my seniors. Lakyn, I adore you and your confidence. The way that you are unapologetically YOU inspires me and those around you. I am so thankful to have Lakyn on my 2024 Senior Rep Team.
