It’s no secret that life is continually ebbing and flowing. It’s changing constantly. One of my favorite things about my job is being able to come alongside you for a lot of life stages. I have been able to capture someone graduating high school and then when they graduated college. I have been able to take family photos and senior photos for the same individuals. It is one of my favorite things to watch you grow and capture it along the way.

Ruthie & Nolan’s life changes have been by far my favorite to capture so far. They purchased land to build their dream house; we captured it. They had their house 50% built; we captured it. They moved into their dream house and made it a home; we captured it. And now they are adding two little feet to their home and I was able to capture it. This is the greatest honor.

This series of photos started in the fall of 2021 with an empty plot of land. We stood here and Ruthie & Nolan shared their hopes and dreams for what their future could look like with a house in this exact spot. It was a special session, and it kept getting better.

Then in the fall of 2022 their house was being built! The dream was becoming a reality. While it was still in the in between we captured what was almost. It was almost their living room. It was almost their master bedroom and dream kitchen with a large island. It was almost everything they hoped and dreamed for.

And then in the fall of 2023 their plot of land was officially a HOME! It was their dream in real life. Piece by piece I saw it come together for them. They put so much work into this dream. It only made sense to capture it step by step.

I thought our sessions of life changes had wrapped up in November of 2023. Then Ruthie reached out with some more exciting news! They were growing their family by two little feet and they wanted my help with sharing the big news.

Ruthie and Nolan put so much love, hope, hard work and prayers to make this series of photos come to life. More than what I can accurately show in a series of photo sessions. But now they have something tangible to look back on. A session for each large step in this journey of building their forever home. I can’t thank them enough for asking me to come along side them in this.
