There are so many words I could say to describe Sophia, the relationship we have built and the beauty that is revealed in her senior photos. Sophia is a senior at Quincy High School. She’s on the pom team, golfs competitively, dances at a local dance studio and is a leader in multiple clubs at QHS. She has big dreams to follow in her father’s footsteps to be a neurosurgeon one day, and she has every capability to fulfill those dreams. Next year she will be heading somewhere warmer to start her journey to becoming a doctor. When Sophia and I started her senior picture journey this past summer, we instantly clicked. Her photo sessions were more like friend hang outs, and I always left feeling refreshed and so excited to start editing.
Her senior photos started with her two location summer session. She dreamed of a field with white flowers and some water with a beautiful sunset. She wanted an emphasis on yellow and white for florals, so we added a bouquet in to be sure the florals were really captured. We went to the field first and finished the night at a pond overlooking the sunset. Now I wish I could control the sunset for every session. That would be really awesome, but I can’t. For Sophia’s session, we lucked out and the sunset worked in our favor.
Sophia’s next sessions were focusing on her involvements as a pommer and a golfer. Sophia is a part of the QHS pom team and we wanted these photos to be at the QHS football stadium. She also is a competitive golfer. We went to her favorite golf course to capture her love of & skill in golf.
Her final session (so far) we traveled to the Missouri State Capitol in Jefferson City, MO. We were going for Gossip Girl vibes, and she delivered. It was a dreary December day, and Sophia pushed through it. I had sent her a simple mood board outlining my idea for this session and I can not be more obsessed with how it all turned out. Take a look!
Sophia’s experience as a Senior Rep will finish with a cap & gown session and a family session. Spending this year with her has been incredible. I am so grateful for the senior rep experience introducing me to girls like Sophia and giving me the opportunity to capture the multiple facets of so many girls through multiple sessions!
