I know most senior boys only show up to their session with me because their mom has required it. I know most of them are not the most stoked for it. And that does not hurt my feelings. I am yet to have a senior boy finish their senior pictures and not say, “Wow that wasn’t as bad as I expected!” Wil was no different. He was a little quiet when we got started but we were quickly chatting and moving through his senior pictures. His session is one of my favorites because we were able to incorporate the things that he really loves. Adding personal elements through props, locations or even just an outfit makes everyone more comfortable. Wil and his mom did a great job keeping all of this in mind for his session! Check it out below.
Wil’s senior pictures started with his truck. He has done so much work to his truck and is really proud of it (as he should be). It was the perfect addition to his senior photos. You can’t look at these pictures and NOT think, yep, that is Wil! He was so comfortable and I loved hearing about the work he has put in to making his truck his own.
After capturing his truck, Wil dressed it up a little bit for some more ‘formal’ senior pictures. These senior photos are great to have for scholarship applications, the newspaper, graduation invites, etc. They are truly timeless, and I always recommend having some of them in your back pocket.
Baseball is Wil’s true passion, and there was no way we were finishing his senior photos without stopping at the baseball field. He has played on his school team and on a traveling team for years. He’s a great catcher and has scholarship offers to play baseball post high school. He works hard to be the best player and always had a smile on his face when he was talking about some of his best baseball memories. To make it even sweeter, we had a perfect sunset in the background!
I totally understand the nerves and sometimes dread that can come with your senior pictures. There are a lot of ways to make the session easier by including personal elements like Wil did. And always remember that I pose you and move at a good pace so you don’t get sore cheeks from all the smiling. I am currently booking 2024 senior for late summer and fall!
