2022.. What a Year!
2022 was my second year as a full-time business owner. At the start of this past year, I decided it was time to hone in on what I really loved. That being seniors and couples, including weddings. I wanted to push into growing my business more, creating better routines and focusing on the relationships I can build with my clients. I didn’t think it was possible, but I somehow ended the year MORE in love with this job than I did at the start. Here’s a quick recap and some of the top moments of my year.
- I hung out with 240 clients.
- I celebrated 94 seniors.
- I captured the love of 18 weddings.
- I delivered…. Nevermind, I am not even going to try and count how many images I delivered in the last year. It was a LOT.
- We gave over $4,000 to the foster care community in Adams County.
My top 3 business moments of 2022:
- Opening my second business, Studio 125. Studio 125 is a photo studio and small event space in Quincy, IL. This space allows me (& others) to complete way more studio sessions and expand my creativity in styled shoots.
2. Pulling off the epic floating balloon photos with Pumped Up Balloons. This photoshoot started off as a joke thinking we could never pull it off, and it turned into a viral sensation with 6.5 million views on Instagram. There was a lot of brain power (& a little bit of danger) that went into this photoshoot, and it turned out even better than I could have imagined.
3. Hanging out with my incredible Senior Rep team. I took a big step this year and accepted FOURTEEN girls onto my Senior Rep Team. It was my biggest team yet, and I was nervous. These girls have been truly amazing. They are kind, open-minded, welcoming and so much fun. Seeing all of them form friendships and getting to know their hearts is such a gift.
My top 3 personal moments of 2022:
- Buying a house! Jordan (my husband) and I made the big decision to move to Quincy and found an amazing home for us. Moving to Quincy from Liberty was a big decision as we had lived there our entire lives and loved the quiet community. Ultimately, our jobs were the driving factor. I am so much closer to all of my sessions now, and I can better serve you.
2. Traveling. In 2022 we traveled to Chicago, Texas, Colorado, Michigan and Johnson Shut Ins State Park. Traveling has always been an important part of my life. Sometimes the best way to find yourself is to step out of your comfort zone. These trips did just that.
3. Finding out we are having a BABY! This is still a truth I am fully soaking in even as I am almost halfway through my pregnancy. Jordan and I spend a lot of time dreaming about who our little babe will be and I can’t wait for this new season of life.

2022 will be a tough year to top in this business. I am dreaming big for my seniors and couples and all the ways I can serve you better in 2023. I think 2023 is going to be a year of new and exciting things. A lot of new concepts are already appearing and I am not turning away from them. I can’t wait to hang out with you this year!!!
